The last stop on our trip was London. When I think of London I don’t think of food. I do however, think of shopping and that is exactly what my plan was. This was my third time in London and for some reason I always end up eating fast food at some point while I’m there. This time was no different! Fortunately for me, I was there during a limited run of the CBO or chicken bacon onion at McDonalds. It was pretty good, not sure why we don’t have it in the states. So besides all the shopping and fast food eating, I did have afternoon tea on my birthday. It was amazing! We decided on the Palm Court at the Langham Hotel and we definitely made the right choice! The smell of fresh cut roses when you walk in is enough on it’s on to make you fall in love. The staff was warm and helpful and the piano player was a wonderful addition. I opted for the Wonderland Tea with a glass of Laurent-Perrier. My tea selection was Assam.
Finger Sandwiches: Cucumber, cream cheese and chives, cornfed chicken breast with honey mustard, free range hen’s eggs and Secretts Farm mustard cress, smoked Scottish salmon with horseradish, and yellow fin tuna, sunblush tomatoes, and rocket basil bread.
Selection of French pastries and specialist mini cakes: salted caramel popcorn meringue, tainori 64% Valrhona chocolate tower, mango and kalamansi dome, English rose macaroon with raspberry and lychee cream
Here are a few other highlights from London. We got a chance to stroll around Covent Garden and I was so happy to see Ladurée since I was not able to make it there in Paris.
And of course a trip to London wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Harrods! Here are a few pics from the food hall.
