The addition of bacon makes anything better and biscuits are no exception. This recipe has just enough bacon so that it doesn’t over power the flavor of the biscuit. I like anything spicy so I decided to make a jalapeño butter but added a little honey to sweeten things up. This biscuit is great for breakfast, but also great for lunch or dinner with buttermilk fried chicken! Advertisements
I wanted to share the recipe for the waffles I made for my birthday brunch. As I said before, I didn’t make the chicken to go with these mini bites, but if you have the time, try my recipe for buttermilk brined fried chicken just cut the chicken in smaller pieces. These waffles are great on there own with a little fruit compote or served with fried chicken and a little maple syrup on the side. Also try them with this mixed berry filling and berry syrup. For these mini bites, I served the syrup in small pipettes on the side, which I totally forgot to take a photo of. I just hate soggy waffles and I wanted my guests to be able to control the amount of syrup. I made these waffles in a metal waffles iron and in a non stick. The metal yields a crisper exterior and a nice fluffily interior, but the non stick is way easier to use in my opinion. I rarely use the metal waffle iron so I definitely need a …
I’m back and so happy to finally be posting again! I know it’s been a long time. I’m still having some computer problems, but hopefully they will be resolved soon and I’ll be back to running normally in no time. I’m getting ready for New Orleans, but I wanted to get this post up before I left. When I think of Valentine’s Day, I think of chocolate, strawberries, and champagne. This dish is perfect for your sweet heart for breakfast or even dessert with a nice glass of bubbly!
I’ve been on a biscuit kick lately and wanted to try a variation of the classic buttermilk biscuit. I recently purchased some black truffle butter from D’Artagnan and figured a little truffle never hurt anything! I have to admit, I am one of those people that love truffle and it will never get old to me. Try these biscuits on there own or for brunch with a mimosa.
This cake takes me right back to Florence. It’s laced with lemon and orange zest and super moist from the olive oil. It’s light and fluffy and a perfect end to a summer meal. This cake is also a great breakfast treat. Top with pine nuts as I have or with a dusting of powdered sugar. Either way is delicious and I’m sure this will become one of your favorite cakes.
Valentines Day is right around the corner and if you plan on making your honey breakfast in bed, give this recipe a try! Vanilla scented french toast with creamy mascarpone filling, drizzled with berry syrup, It’s even more delicious than it sounds. I used a mixture of blueberries and raspberries, but any berries will work for this.
Le Palais des Thés has come out with a limited edition tea for her and him this Valentines Day. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Thé des Amants for her. It’s a spicy green tea with citrus and fruity notes and it smells amazing! I couldn’t decide what to make to go along with it, but I finally settled on brioche and pear butter. I just love this! It’s perfect for breakfast or a quick snack.
I am seriously addicted to homemade strawberry preserves. This is my second batch because the first went so fast I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures. It is really one of the simplest things to make and the taste is so much better than store bought. It’s also nice because you can control the amount of sugar you put in. These preserves will also make a great holiday gift.
If your like me, you don’t always have the time to make everything from scratch, but you still want it to taste and look like you spent a little time one it. This is a bit of an experiment to add a little something extra to refrigerated cinnamon buns. This definitely makes refrigerated cinnamon buns taste a whole lot better, but nothing compares to anything fresh and homemade!
There is no better way to spend your Sunday than having brunch. While I like going out for brunch, sometimes I feel like I can never get exactly what I want and it can get expensive after a couple mimosas! One of my favorite things to make for breakfast/brunch is french toast with brown sugar banana sauce. I don’t always add mascarpone, but it just adds a little something extra to take this to another level of good.
